Besa Kastrati - Birth and Postpartum Doula in Melbourne

Doula | Pronouns: she/her

Based in Boronia, Victoria Supporting Inner East, East and South East of Naarm | Melbourne.

About

I am a Melbourne-based doula and infant massage instructor, based in Boronia supporting women and families across the eastern, inner eastern, and south-eastern suburbs through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into motherhood with care, respect, and presence.

Birth is where my heart truly is. My greatest strength as a doula is my ability to create a calm, safe, and trusting space during labour and birth. I support women in staying connected to their bodies, their instincts, and their choices .Whether that means offering reassurance, hands-on comfort, or simply being a steady, quiet presence.

My work is centred primarily around birth support, while also honouring the importance of the postpartum transition:

  • Pregnancy and Continuous birth support – calm, grounded presence throughout pregnancy and labour

  • Breath & nervous system support – guiding you to relax, soften, and stay connected to your body

  • Birth preparation & education – simple, clear guidance so you feel confident and informed

  • Advocacy & emotional support – helping you feel heard, safe, and respected

  • Infant massage instructions – supporting bonding and connection

  • Postpartum support – holding space for the emotional shift into motherhood

I see postpartum as more than recovery, it is a deep transformation of identity. My Philosophy is that there is no one right way to give birth ,only what feels right for you.

There is a moment in pregnancy and birth
where everything asks you to slow down.

To soften.
To breathe.
To come back into your body.

This is the space I hold for women
not only during birth, but also in the time leading up to it.

A grounded, calm presence where you feel safe enough
to trust what your body already knows.

Birth is not something to control.
It’s something to move through, with support.

Training, Qualifications, Professional and Lived Experience

I hold a Bachelor degree in Midwifery and have worked as a midwife in Turkey, supporting women through pregnancy, labour, and birth in clinical settings. This experience gave me a strong understanding of the physiology of birth, alongside a deep respect for the emotional and intuitive experience of each woman. I have completed doula training in Australia with Mother Moon Doula Training.

My path has also been shaped by living across cultures and working closely with people in both healthcare and client-focused roles. I bring a grounded, compassionate, and culturally sensitive approach to every family I support. I also offer infant massage instruction after birth, teaching parents how to bond with and soothe their baby, and supporting fathers to feel actively involved. I did my training for massage instruction with IMIS.

Testimonials

“I’m so grateful to have had you present at my birth. Building that connection early on made me feel more comfortable and supported throughout labour.

Your calm presence, massage, and awareness of pressure points helped me manage intense moments and contributed to a positive, unmedicated birth.

Having you there when things got tough was incredibly reassuring, and your care and kindness after birth made such a difference to my recovery. It truly felt like I was supported with dignity every step of the way.”
