birth reflections |

Birth imprints on the body, the mind, and the heart. Each experience holds its own story — one that can be returned to, explored, and understood in new ways over time. Birth reflection offers a space to revisit that story from beginning to end, to notice the moments, the feelings, and the meaning that sits within it. It’s an opportunity to be heard, to speak your experience out loud, and to follow the thread of your birth with curiosity and care.

As you share, you may find yourself recognising pieces more clearly — the strength, the choices, the emotions, the moments that shaped your experience. Some parts you may celebrate, others acknowledged or some to understand on a deeper level.

There are many reasons people come to a birth reflection.

To close the circle on an experience.

To honour what has been.

To prepare for a future birth.

Or simply to spend time with their story in a supported space.

It is not about changing what happened, or judgement but about integrating your experience — allowing it to sit within you with greater clarity, understanding and softness.

Your birth matters.

And your voice matters in the telling of it.

A birth reflection is a gentle and supportive space to be heard, to revisit and make sense of your experience, whether it was powerful, complicated, beautiful, or all of the above. Our session invites you to reflect with curiosity and compassion. This offering is for you if you're seeking clarity, closure, or simply a safe space to explore the story of your birth, in your own time and in your own words.

Birth reflections can help you:

  • Feel validated, seen, and understood

  • Release or shift emotions that may have been held in or brushed aside

  • Make sense of medical decisions or unexpected outcomes

  • Reclaim your voice and agency

  • Integrate your experience, whether recent or many years ago

  • Support healing, confidence, and connection moving forward

People often describe these sessions as grounding, reflective, powerful, safe and supportive. They leave feeling lighter, clearer, with a connection and clarity to their story and to themselves. This is for anyone who has given birth, no matter how long ago. Your story is worth telling.

The power of talking about your birth.

Birth can leave a deep imprint on the body, the mind, and the heart. Whether it unfolded in alignment with your hopes or took an unexpected path, the experience often lingers in ways we don’t always recognise.

Talking about your birth helps make sense of what happened. It allows you to name the parts that felt empowering, confusing, or difficult. When we speak our stories out loud, especially in a safe and non-judgemental space, we begin to process what may have been overwhelming in the moment.

This is not about rewriting history or forcing resolution. It’s about honouring your experience and finding meaning in it. Talking can bring release. It can restore a sense of agency. And it can support healing — so you can carry your story with greater understanding and softness.

Your birth matters.

And your voice matters in the telling of it.

A birth reflection is for anyone who has felt that an experience of birth, either their own or a person you supported. These sessions are designed to move at your pace, with care and respect for what feels safe to explore.

Do you want to:

  • explore birth experiences whether recent or years ago

  • prepare for an upcoming or future birth

  • make sense of how the birth happened

  • understand your current responses to the story

  • unpack and understand medical decisions

  • unpack and understand your own choices throughout the process

You’re not expected to arrive with a clear story or questions. Sometimes this space is you talking and telling your story from start to end and other times it’s more organic and you might speak about particular parts of your experience that are remaining with you in an unresolved or unclear way.

Who is a birth reflection for?

In your session, you can expect:

  • An introduction and an offer to ground into the space

  • A calm, supportive space where you can speak freely

  • Opportunity to sit with emotions, to tend to your physical experience of what is happening as you tell your story

  • Gentle, non-clinical guidance to help unpack your experience

  • Time to explore what happened and how it felt; physically, emotionally, and relationally

  • The option to talk through medical notes, timelines, or decisions if helpful

  • A focus on your values, voice, feelings and emotional wellbeing

  • Practical tools or follow-up suggestions for ongoing support if needed

You don’t need to remember every detail. This is a space for you to be met with kindness, curiosity, and compassion — wherever you are in your journey.
