Birth Map Course

A birth map is flexible and responsive, offering guidance through the twists and turns of labour — unlike a fixed plan, it supports informed choices no matter how your birth unfolds.

Our course offers a creative and grounded process for building your birth map. This course is for you if you are seeking to communicate clearly and make informed, values-based decisions.

Tickets include support partner space.‬

This is four hours of group-facilitated content delivered over two evening sessions at The Midwives House in Thornbury, Victoria - facilitated by Josie and a member of the Radiant Birth doula team. You will have a space to explore your needs, wants and values and to communicate this to those who care for you in pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Why a Birth Map and not a plan?

There’s nothing wrong with having a birth plan. But a birth map invites you into something deeper. It’s not just about outlining what you hope will happen. It’s about becoming informed, intentional, and prepared for the full spectrum of birth.

Birth mapping is a process of exploring your values, needs, and informed choices. It helps you consider both your ideal birth and the unexpected, guiding you to understand how you want to make decisions and how to communicate them clearly with your support team.

Birth is unpredictable. But when we birth map, we step into that unpredictability with clarity. We build a broader understanding of the options that may arise, such as induction or caesarean. We then create space for confidence, even if things shift. This is about expressing what matters to you, naming what helps you feel supported and safe, and ensuring your voice is at the centre - through every possibility.
